No Veggies at Breakfast for Dinner

We went with breakfast for dinner last Thursday.  Adam came home and asked if he could make dinner all by himself.  That seemed like the most logical meal for him to prepare since he's 8 and all.  But have you noticed there are no veggies at breakfast for dinner.  (OK, unless you are doing a veggie omelet or something.  Our breakfast for dinner menu is almost always pancakes or waffles.) We were having pancakes … with our famous freshly ground wheat flour done by Adam himself.  Some bacon that I had left after the 40 cloves of garlic chicken.  And real maple syrup.    Nutritious enough … but no veggies.

Quickly, since I wasn't in charge of anything except making sure Margot didn't eat all

of Adam's pancake batter before it hit the griddle,  I whipped up a fresh batch of grapefruit celery juice in our juicer.  Once the kids slurpped that down with their IKEA bendy straws, breakfast for dinner seemed all

the better.

You'll notice

Margot's flour hand print on Adam's hoody.  That must have happened while I was running the celery through the juicer.

Just this week I started making Kale, Pineapple, Banana, Almond Milk Smoothies for breakfast or lunch. As I was buying the Kale I thought, Tricia would be so proud.
